Artemis snorted in derision. "Sure," he chuckled, leaning his head on her shoulder. "As long as dear Kasam doesn't see..."

Axelle giggled. "Mhmmm. Yeah." She laughed quietly.

"You know, if we were suddenly attacked by something from somewhere, we'd probably die in an instant, without being able to put up any resistance whatsoever," sighed Artemis happily.

Axelle looked at him.

"How morbid of a kid are you?" She inquired loudly, a WTF expression appearing on her face.

"Ah...I never tell anyone how morbid I really am. They'd be too freaked out. But actually, I said that more for Kasam's benefit than ours."
Artemis shrugged. "If we were attacked, I'd make sure you wouldn't die, at least."

Ahead, the grassy lump moved. It pulled itself to its feet, looming over eight feet tall. It looked something like a giant, hunched bear with the head of a wild boar. Its snout was elongated, its body was covered in a brown-green fur that closely resembled grass, and at the end of its brawny fur-covered arms were long, blunt claws.

Kasam said a dirty word.
